What can I say about Claymation? I could talk about my wonderful partner Norah. But, today that's not what I am here for. I am here to talk about the enjoyable and difficult parts of this interesting project. Like as far as enjoyable, the fun part of shooting a scene. Inching our characters slowly across the screen to make a little motion picture. There were difficulties though, including finding the perfect song for our special little movie. We worked so hard on this project and I think it payed off. Most important about this project would be the things that we learned. The most important thing that I personally learned was to persevere and never give up.

Shooting the scene was so much fun. Even if it was the part of the Claymation that took the longest, it truly was the most enjoyable. My favorite part of shooting a scene was making the little people walk. It doesn't look like it's going to look like much on the finished scene but when you are done it looks awesome. Instead of just inching along like when you took the pictures, on the video they seem to effortlessly glide across the page. Making the characters move objects was also fun and sometimes tricky. It was always worth it in the end though, to see these characters move like they were alive. Something that changed little but looked cool on the video, would be to move the facial features on the characters. If you moved a mouth you could make them smile or frown. If you moved eyebrows they could be angry or sad. Seeing the finished product made me happy to think that I was that much closer to being done.

Most of the Claymation was fun, but like all projects there were some difficulties. The most difficult thing that I can remember was finding the background song. For you see, this song was vital for our Claymation. Finding the perfect 4 minutes of song wasn't just to fill up some space. No, these four little minutes could change the whole theme of our Claymation. We had so many choices to go through. What type of music? Was a very prominent question. In the end we decided to go for rock/Indian sounds. That sounds really weird, but it works for or Claymation. If you are curious about the song, it is called Arto by System of a Down.

I learned many things while doing this project. If I had to pick the most important thing that I learned, it would be the ability to persevere and never give up. This Claymation project was so long and sometimes really hard to imagine reaching the end. That is why I had to learn these valuable life skills. I would have never been able to finish my Claymation if I hadn't had the will to finish. Once I had these skills giving up was never in the question. We had to move one scene at a time. This doesn't sound very complicated, but think of new characters, props, and backgrounds. Once one scene was done, we just had to move on to the next one in hope of being done on time, to receive full points. Because we learned these life skills my partner Norah and I were the first ones done.

I am not going to lie. This Claymation was hard, but we finished. We finally finished. And while doing so we learned how to use new programs on the computer, make characters out of clay, make background scenes and so much more. These skills we will take with us for the rest of our lives. This project has made me a wiser person. And even though it was long, and sometimes tiring, it was completely worth it.
